Kenneth Gilliam, Gilliam & Associates
It’s unusual to find such a talented general manager in the industrial design/manufacture field. His rare ability to recognize and contribute to areas of concern is matched by his ability to let go when the talent is flowing. I was creative director for the Samsung Museum of Transportation and the E*Trade E*Mobile, two very difficult assignments. Jim’s contribution to each was essential to their success.
Junsoo Jang, Samsung Museum of Transportation
My company worked with James Knier and Knier Productions for the production of the 85,000 square foot Samsung Museum of Transportation in Seoul, Korea. His contribution to the project went far beyond our expectations. He and his team provided overall (accurate) budgets and timeline projections, valuable design criticism, engineering solutions, complicated technical design, fabrication and installation. It seems he can accomplish anything. His work is excellent and his coordinating skills are impressive. Everything he did for us was on time and on budget. He brings joy to his work and is a team player in every sense. We continue to ask for his advice and input on projects around the world.

...I appreciate, admire and respond to creativity. Not just unique ideas--but creativity that yields uniqueness and effectiveness. You do that. In spades. Although, whereas the creative juices flow freely, what really sets you apart is that you know the importance of jointly determining the primary mission of a project and then you never lose sight of what that is. To put it in media terms, you help determine the message points, which then are never lost or forgotten.
...you get it. And you clients benefit.
Bern Thompsom, Wells Fargo
The idea for the Wells Fargo.com bus came when a local businessman, James Knier, approached Wells Fargo with the idea of creating what he called a “Web on Wheels” bus. And so after some careful consideration, Wells Fargo decided to go ahead and build this classroom on wheels for use all across the country. Wherever the bus goes, it creates awareness for Wells Fargo. We are a major financial services institution and security is very important to us. If the Web on Wheels team had not met our requirements, the Wells Fargo.com bus would have never left the garage.
Paul Rich, Wells Fargo
We have had over 150 events in 15 different states since we hit the road with the Wells Fargo.com bus. I personally manage this coach on the road and I am not a high tech person. I do not have IT training. But at the same time, I can go on that coach and within a matter of 10 or 15 minutes, have everything up and running on the coach, including connecting to the Internet in most cases that quickly.
It’s a very exciting experience—and I mean that very seriously. As we go across country to see people’s anticipation….because they know we’re coming, from Wells Fargo, and we try to describe just what does this thing looks like, and what does it do. They are just amazed at what it looks like inside. It’s a very exciting experience. It really is. Not only for our employees, but also the customers that come aboard.. They walk up the steps and you can just see it in their eyes….. they go WOW!
